A colourful, fun day not to forget

Twelve members of the Wilkinson Woodward team spent Saturday 20^th May being doused in all the colours of the rainbow for charity.

Taking part in the 2023 Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice Colour Run, which took place at Greenhead Park in Huddersfield on 20^th May, the eager walker, joggers and runners got covered in powdered paint as they made their way around the 5k course.

For those who participated on behalf of Wilkinson Woodward, the event provided a great way to be able to support charity while enjoying themselves – it was fun getting out and being active with colleagues, family and friends while raising money for a good cause. As part of their efforts to help ‘paint the park’, the team raised an impressive £1,284.00 for Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.

Forget Me Not is a Huddersfield-based charity which supports families with children who have life-limiting conditions. Fundraising events such as the Colour Run play a major role in enabling the organisation to keep providing superb nursing care, hydrotherapy, creative therapy, days out, memory making, end of life care, bereavement support and counselling, and generally helping families make the most of every moment they have together.

We would like to thank all the team members and their children who participated in the Colour Run, as well as everyone who donated money for this great cause. We are happy to say that the money we raised will help Forget Me Not in its efforts to support children with life-shortening conditions, their families, and families living with the loss of their child across West Yorkshire.

Wilkinson Woodward has been part of the communities of Calderdale and Kirklees for over 130 years, and we are proud to support several causes.
