Is someone you love living with dementia?
If you, a friend or relative is living with dementia, help is at hand from the Calderdale branch of The Alzheimer’s Society, which offers information and support to local people living with Dementia as well as their carers, family and friends.
Singing for the Brain
The Society’s Singing for the Brain sessions can improve brain activity, wellbeing and mood (and you don’t need to be a good singer to feel the benefit). The sessions use singing to bring people together in a friendly and stimulating supportive environment. Even when memories are hard to recall, music is easy to remember. In Calderdale, sessions run at the following venues:
Civic Hall in Brighouse - First Tuesday of every month from 1330 to 1530
Todmorden Health Centre - First and third Monday of every month from 2:00 – 4:00
The Shay Stadium in Halifax - Second and fourth Tuesday of every month from 10.30–12.30
Come and find us at Brighouse Christmas Market on 24 and 25 November 2018, choose a gift from our festive bran tub and help us support the Brighouse Singing for the Brain Group. To find out more, please contact the Calderdale Alzheimer’s Society Office on 01422 352 789 or email Candk.services@alzheimers.org.uk
