Amber scoops first prize with her colourful spitfire

Congratulations to 11-year-old Amber from Brighouse who scooped the prize in our recent colouring competition which we ran as part of Brighouse 1940s weekend earlier this month.

Amber, who attends St Andrew’s Junior School in Brighouse and is clearly an artist in the making, created this colourful image of a spitfire. Amber wins a climbing taster session at Roktface and a meal at The Millers Bar for her and her family.

Ambers winning colouring

Special thanks go to local amateur artist John Wetton who created the line drawing for our colouring competition. John, who was born in Brighouse and is “eighty something”, is a keen amateur artist and served in the RAF. John chose Amber’s winning picture because it was “bold, imaginative and used an ambitious choice of colours”.

Congratulations to Amber and well done to everyone who entered. Amber’s winning picture can be seen displayed at our Brighouse office, alongside all the other entries.
