A proven record of success
With an approach to supporting and nurturing legal talent that has been carefully honed, several trainees have continued their careers with us at our Halifax, Huddersfield and Brighouse offices. These include Residential Property Solicitor, Rachel Hunt, Residential and Commercial Property Solicitor, Daniel Cawthorn, also Wills and Probate Executive, Nicola Webb and James Hodgson Employment Law and Probate Solicitor while former trainees Shelley McLachlan and Laura Kurowski, are now Directors at the firm.
We also have several talented colleagues currently in solicitor training, including our Conveyancing Executive, Igors Scepecs and Legal Assistant, Chloe Cuniffe.
New to our team this year is Trainee Solicitor, Georgia Holding. Georgia secured the trainee position after attending our application open day and interview, describing the day’s tasks as “giving candidates the tools they needed to put their best foot forward.”
Despite having six years’ previous experience in a legal setting, Georgia says she learns something new every week and has had “well-rounded experience with clients.” She adds that everybody at the firm understands that she is learning and that “no question is too small or silly.”
One of the things Georgia especially likes about working at Wilkinson Woodward is that it is a local firm that gives back to the community. This is something she sees as a core part of the firm’s identity, and she has taken part in several community and charity events since joining.
As a trainee, Georgia also highlights the importance of networking, something the firm encourages. She is now taking a place on the Law Society team and was previously the Events Officer for the local Junior Lawyers Network. Georgia says that networking is a great way to meet potential clients and access additional support from the legal community beyond that provided at work.
